Can this be installed for the 64-bit version?

XoRderous

I can't run the 32-bit version of this game on my computer, so I was hoping someone could help me to get this to work on the 64-bit version.

Yes, but it gets limited a little bit, that you can probably only connect from website server list.

Version 1:
- See older tutorial: https://youtu.be/fEMRvGOO5dc?t=2m24s
- Go http://crymp.net/master.php
- click JOIN on any server suitable your Crysis version
- console application launches and asks you to select Crysis.exe
- go to your Crysis folder (most likely C:Program Files(x86)Electronic ArtsCrytekCrysisBin64
- select Crysis.exe or Crysis64.exe
- wait until you get connected
Version 2:
- on your desktop is Crysis-Multiplayer shortcut or something like that
- click it Right and go to Properties
- in Target path, change Bin32 to Bin64 , so it looks like ........Bin64Crysis.exe -mod sfwcl
- click Apply and OK
- run game through this shortcut
- open console
- write "0" (without quotes) to get server-list
- type number of any server to connect

Please let me know whether any of these works, I don't have 64bit OS, so I could never test, it's only theoretical.

XoRderous

19.07.2015 21:44:38Link to post

Both ways ended up crashing the game. I might do some own research now that I know about writing "0" on the console.

Operating system is? Processor manufactorer (AMD or Intel) ? In worst case: AMD FX?

Freebo

20.07.2015 00:12:42Link to post

XoRderous. I have 64-bit Win 7 on 2 different PCs - and never had problem with runing Crysis 32-bit !!!. Maybe it's like Zi said maybe you're using AMD FX (owners of it had problem with Crysis - no way to solve it)
or maybe...

you should try to "Run this program in compatibility mode" with WinXP - easy to set in your "Crysis-MP" shortcut.

Check out this link - what I mean: http://crymp.net/faq.php#solve ("3. choose compatibility" screenshot)

If you're not using AMD FX it should help. If you have AMD FX CPU it will unfortunately always crash. Good luck!

PS. Please let us know we're trying to make it work for everyone. We have to know what problems are people experiencing.
Especially 12 months after the birth of this network. We have to know all problems finally to make tutorial about each.

You know why I wrote "in worst case AMD FX"?
Because there are thousands of threads about Crysis crashing on AMD FX especially 64bit, the worst possible CPU.

Zi;

20.07.2015 18:24:53Link to post

Good question Zi.

XoRderous please let us know what version of Crysis 1 (without our multiplayer client) you can run Crysis 32, Crysis 64 only. I've heard from people I met on my Youtube that they couldn't run Crysis at all on AMD FX. So how is that really with you. Can run Crysis MP 32 and 64 but can't run only that with CryMP.Net multiplayer shorcut ? That would be strange but possible.

Please - it's important for us to finally know AMD FX problem. Thanks.

XoRderous

20.07.2015 19:48:59Link to post

The only one that doesn't crash is the normal Crysis 64. And, two things. One, if this helps in anyway, I have DVD copy of the game. Two, when running Crysis 32 (normal or modded) the file that doesn't work is CryRenderD3D10.dll and when running the Crysis 64 modded version, the file that doesn't work is CrySystem.dll.

Ok, so maybe DirectX 9 could work, that doesn't matter anyway, as all servers are for DX9, not DX10, DX10 is pretty much useless.
Try to run game with "-dx9" parameter (Crysis.exe -dx9 or Crysis.exe -dx9 -mod sfwcl) ... I mean 32bit one.

XoRderous

OK, so good news, soon there will be release of new client with 64bit support as well, but if you wanna risk and make 64bit work for you anyway, open Mods\sfwcl\Bin64\sfwcl.dll in some better editor, find ".\Bin32\CryGame.dll" - there should be two of them, only one is correct!!! And rewrite one to .\Bin64\CryGame.dll ... if that one doesn't work, rewrite other one and put first one back to Bin32. One must be Bin32, another Bin64. Risky enough? :D

XoRderous

Try to download this DLL and replace original sfwcl.dll in Mods\sfwcl\Bin64\ with this one http://31.220.49.207:40280/upload/sfwcl.dll and launch game as 64bit with -mod sfwcl.

Freebo

24.07.2015 11:18:28Link to post

Yes it's a great news finally see that both 64-bit and AMD FX problem can be solved. But now we have to solve it for any AMD FX user.

XoRderous - you are the one who likes to try and put own time and work to fix your problems - respect - because 90% of players who gets errors or just can't get things done and working in first 10 minutes - they just leave whole game and never try again.

So we have to be sure WHAT EXACTLY should be done to make it work and if it's not possible to make automatical fix for players with AMD FX / 64-bit sys issues. I personally met around 7 guys with this problem and I couldn't help them before.

We have to prepare final tutorial for this issue or ... maybe this can be automated somehow.

Anyway XoRderous congratulations. Thanks for patience and have fun.

"it says insufficent resources to complete operation, and Avira reports a virus, I'll just wait a patch or another official way to play crysis mp."
I'm sry. steam give a shit on this game as EA too. There will be no new "official" patch from crytek, steam or EA.
Maybe you already destroyed the folder structure by renameing things, move or delete them. Maybe let steam reinstall the game and follow the instruction from here step by step.
I saw you have an AMD FX CPU. The FX CPUs make some trouble with the 32Bit version of crysis. So you will need to get the 64Bit version or follow this instructions: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=475086744

By the way. The virus report is not from the patch... Its from the "No DVD Crysis.exe". Here we dont support cracks. But sometimes it can help users to get crysis working if Origin,EA,Steam support fails.
XD Comrade do you use infected No DVD? 9 MB crysis.exe is a bit to much i think :S

Comrade

22.08.2015 11:29:42Link to post

This is Crysis.exe for Bin64 and it works with 5767 and 6156... and that's probably why it has 9 MB :)

Youda008

29.08.2015 14:18:01Link to post

Few things that you can try, if your game crashes on startup:
1. run the game in administrator mode
2. set compatibility with Windows XP (which automaticaly runs in administrator mode)
3. delete all profile files in UserDir\Documents\My Games\Crysis\Profiles
4. install version of SafeWriting client for Origin/Steam
5. use that fix for AMD FX above

I've done everything you said Freebo and Youda, I appreciate a lot the time that you've spent helping me, but crysis still crashes on startup, except if I run it with LaunchCrysis32.bat (AMD FX fix). I will check the forums for other solutions in future, thanks again!

Zi;

Every man is the architect of his own fortune
01.09.2015 17:03:30Link to post

So create LaunchCrysis32.bat shortcut, give it an icon of Crysis and rename it to Crysis and voila, problem solved!
And add "-mod sfwcl" to that Crysis.exe path in LaunchCrysis32.bat, so you get client and join from in-game, not server-list here.

64bit version is slower anyway, doesn't give anything extra and it uses 3 times more RAM than 32bit one.

I'm glad it finally works for you. Your case also can help other people with AMD problem. I hope it will help us to give some option to those who have this kind of problem. Thanks.

There was "Jump &... fall" school for this version before - since flying works only on 5767 (where old server "Jump & Fly school" is still on as you can see). It has only few weeks break.

"Jump & Fall School" is ON-LINE again NOW :) - this time it's 100% no killing server (I made mistake for 12 minths making it Kill or Learn - multi functions server). So it will be - as it was on 5767 for 4 years, no guns, just parkour and fun:) Exactly same settings as in 5767 nowadays :)

It's ready so you can train jumping there if you wish every day. Unfortunatelly C-J flying was removed in patched version by Crytek so - no flying :) Unless you enter server like "[U&F] DX10 Random Fun #2" where things like my old Icarus Wings mod work - simulating a bit old C-J flying but in 6156. It doesn't require skills to learn - you can fly after 10 minutes of training :) so it's not the same and not that cool but still... (old C-J flying glitch required 2-4 months to learn it perfectly or even 6 to become pro).

Anyway - have fun and thanks again.

Hello, I happen to have an AMD FX too, somehow the .bat is not to be found as the guy suppressed his guide, and the updated sfwcl.dll from Zi; cannot be downloaded anymore (looks broken), those were apparently the only ways to make the game work, and work on MP. I purchased it from Steam, ver 6156, run it on Win 8, I kept only the original Bin32 file (used to do the renaming thing to make it work on SP), applied the .msi from your website.
I then tried many different things from the new shortcut, launching with admin, compatibility, del profiles, switch to Bin64Crysis and do the same, copy the little Crygame.dll to the Bin64 folder, I'd either get a "failed to load the game DLL" via Bin32 or "could not launch main application" via Bin64.

Is there any way to reupload the updated sfwcl.dll to try and make things work ?
