Ok guys, let me say few words about the events.
Yesterday on the event we had unplesant argument with a few angry players. I'm affraid, there is little a misunderstanding about what is event and how it works.
There were some claims like "we are the dictators, who don't allow you to change map" or that "we are ruining the game by playing crap maps and mods" and that "you come to event to play normal game in refinery, etc".
1. the essense of event
Ok, first of all let me explain what the event is.
It works like this: Somebody gets an idea about what could be fun to do, takes his time to organize it, announces it, and people who notice the announcement can decide if they like that idea or not and if yes, they can join. Every event is announced 1 week in advance, there is a description about what will be happening, and it's only up to you to participate or not. You could say: "but i didn't sing up to anything", so ... what are you doing in the event server at all? Also i often hear: "but i don't read descriptions", well .. is this really our problem? The plan has been set, the people came for it, now how do you want to explain them, that we are leaving our plan and switching to Refinery?? It's same like if you came to a ball and told people, "hey guys, dancing is boring, let's go play football" -_-. See how stupid it is? If you have better idea what to do on the event, write is here, you're always welcome on the forum.
2. forum is the place for discussion
If you have any advices, ideas, opinions, problems, anything, there is the forum for you. You are free to discuss anything here, we admins and modders are checking it regularly and trying to help all the time. The game is not a good place to argue for several reasons:
a) Ingame chat is very basic, messages are too short to write anything sensefull
b) We came to play the game, not talk endlessly about it. If you start spamming with problems and insults, you will probably get ignored, because it is not possible to concentrate on the game and on what everyone writes at a same time.
So don't wonder if you get muted, after you say 20 times the same thing again and again, making others busy reading and answering all the time instead of playing.
Anyway I doubt, that those of you, who shouted in the server, read forum and will ever come here to read this .. or if they do then TL:DR. But then, can we really take such guys seriously?
3. learn to make compromises
Maybe you haven't noticed, but every second event is that "normal game" in standard maps without any restrictions and fully directed by players with "!vote map" command. I think this is pretty fair for the whole community, everyone has a chance to have fun. I'm very worried about, that some of you can to one of those "special" events, happening only once per 2 weeks, and start insulting us for sticking to the plan and not allowing you to play refinery every ******* time. Maybe you could try to show more respect to others and let them have their moment of fun too.
